The air fryer is my new favorite way to bake potatoes! The skin gets nice and crispy while the inside is fluffy and delicious.

We always pre-bake our potatoes in the microwave so they don’t take soooo long to cook. In the summer we usually finish them off on the grill which is fine since we can put them on while the grill is heating up and then they don’t require much, if any, additional time beyond whatever else we’re grilling. In the winter though, it’s been less convenient to heat up the oven just to bake a couple potatoes.
This winter I decided to try out baking them in the air fryer and now that’s probably the only way I will make them year round. They are PERFECT! The skin gets so crispy and the inside is so fluffy. They also take less time than the oven.

- Russet Potatoes: This is really the best type of potato for baking
- Olive oil: Any kind you have on hand
- Kosher salt

Preparation Steps for Air Fryer Baked Potatoes
- Preheat air fryer, if needed
- Scrub potatoes and dry off
- Microwave potatoes for 4-5 minutes
- Spread olive oil on outside of entire potato and sprinkle with salt
- Cook in air fryer

- You can skip the salt if you want but it does make the skin extra delicious

Air Fryer Baked Potatoes
Equipment
- 1 Air fryer
Ingredients
- 2 Russet potatoes
- Olive oil
- Kosher salt
Instructions
- Wash potatoes
- Microwave potatoes for about 5 minutes
- Remove from microwave. Brush with olive oil and sprinkle with salt
- Bake in air fryer at 400 degrees for 20-25 minutes until soft inside and crispy outside.
