Hi, I’m Lisa

Welcome to Burnt Out Cooking!

It’s hard to believe sometimes that I’m suffering from cooking burn out.  I started cooking with my mom and grandmothers when I was young and for the most part always really enjoyed it.  Up until a couple years ago I loved everything about the process – menu planning, grocery shopping, preparing and eating a meal.   But now it feels like a chore, even with my husband helping with most of the cooking. I decided I needed to focus on ways to make it easier for us to cook at home and at the same time I could help others do the same with this blog.

A little about me.  I left a 30+ year corporate career in early 2024 and am now semi-retired.  I may return to the workforce part-time at some point to do something I really love, but for now I’m focused on this blog.   My husband Joe and I have two sons, one who’s grown and living on his own, and one in college.   We also have a Wheaten Terrier named Charlie.  We enjoy travel, hiking, kayaking, sports, music, movies, food, and trying new things.  I’m also an avid gardener and love incorporating fresh vegetables into our meals in the summer.

If you haven’t already, please stop by my Start Here page for more details on the goals of the blog.

I’m looking forward to sharing this journey with you!
